What does Ammonia-Free mean?
Think of the cuticles of the hair like a pine cone. When you are altering the hair the pine cone opens up on the outside to allow the chemicals to enter, whether it is a colour service, or a perm/relaxer service. Ammonia is a chemical that opens the cuticles like a pine cone, it has nothing to do with the actual colouring of the hair and the fumes it gives of can be harmful for the body. Ammonia can be very harsh on the hair and blasts the cuticles open more than is needed to complete the service. We replaced Ammonia with a natural alternative that is gentler and therefore maintains healthy strong hair. After any chemical service a treatment or neutraliser with a low (acidic) pH level should be used to close the cuticles.
What is Thio-Free?
When you are perming hair the biggest damage is caused to the cuticle, making the hair frizzy, damaged, and in worst cases it looks a bit like cotton wool! Our Thio-Free formula restructures the internal bonds of the hair without damaging the cuticle. A Thio-Free Perm will not dry out or over-process hair and it provides a natural result, with healthy hair that looks beautiful and feels beautiful!
What does our three-step colour system mean to you?
Oxidization is a word we frequently hear from clients. But what does it actually mean? We hear it a lot out of the mouths of blonde clients but it has nothing to do with blonde hair! When a colour oxidizes it is a chemical reaction. When the colour in a tube hits oxygen (in the air or in the hydrogen peroxide) it starts to activate. In the bowl its oxidization process is used to describe the colour activating and its chemical reactions working. When it is on the head too long of an application will result in the hair slowly getting darker and therefore oxidizing too much on the hair! In Ammonia Free colour we are in complete control of the oxidization process, and the colour will not oxidize in the hair, so it will not get darker. Also our three-step system means that when a tube is opened and oxygen is let in the colour will not react. The Activator that starts the oxidization process is mixed in with the colour when it is needed. The result? A fresh, perfect long-lasting colour everytime!
